Fans are eager sink their teeth into the books about a vampire, and the movie based on the seires, which opens this week.

The newest addition to the downtown arts community, the Ruff and Tumble Theater Company, is bringing socially conscious theater to intimate audiences in an urban setting, said Mike Brown, one of the founders of the company, whose temporary home is the Utica Monday Nite building, 106 Genesee St.

The Mohawk Valley Center for the Arts will host a closing reception for a show of works from the collection of Adam Spiridilozzi, the center’s new director, from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 15, at the center, 401 S. Ann St. A.M. Breakups will provide entertainment.
